DESCRIPTION
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small-medium building businesses.
A builder is the person who coordinates the construction of a building taking responsibility for the overall completion of the job, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with the client.
The builder may also be the appropriately licensed person with responsibility under the relevant building licensing authority in the State or Territory.
This sample program meets the requirements for a Registered domestic builder (unlimited category) in Victoria. This is the qualification structure preferred by the Master Builders Association of Victoria.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To gain entry into this course, participants should have successfully completed BCG30798 Certificate III in General Construction or BCG31706 Certificate III in Low Rise Structural Framing or their equivalent; or mature age entry is available where the participant is judged to have appropriate maturity or experience, but does not meet the academic requirements as stated. All applicants must be over 18 years of age.

ARTICULATION

ASSESSMENT
Assessment comprises written assignments, tests and practical application projects. Students are required to attend tests and examinations as scheduled, with test generally scheduled during normal class time.
TRAINING AND ASESSSMENT NOTE
Parts of this course will be conducted off-campus within a construction environment.
